Special Notice: The Wyoming Valley Art League is seeking applicants for the position of Part-time
Coordinator. This position will have flexible hours, up to ten per
week. The coordinator duties will include tasks, such as, collect and sort the mail, check phone messages, respond to

Wyoming Valley Art League Announces Spring Members Show Award Winners.
The Wyoming Valley Art League held it’s Spring Members
Show recently at its Mid Town Gallery Location in Down
Town Wilkes Barre. The Malaysian artist Chew Fang Chin was the
honored guest for the evening. Mr Chin gave several painting demonstrations in pastels which he then donated to the Wyoming
Valley Art League.The Spring exhibit was held in conjunction with Wilkes Barre's Third Friday's Art Walk events. The Awards
ceremony took place at 7:30 pm. with the following artists recieving awards:

This year's judge of awards was Mike Burnside. Mr. Burnside is
the Executive Director of the Cultural Council of Luzerne County and former Vice President of Corporate Communications for WVIA Public Broadcasting.
Following a tradition of over 54 years, the Wyoming Valley
Art League continues to serve as the center for fine artists in Pennsylvania's beautiful Wyoming Valley. The League is an organization
that promotes fellowship among all artists, art leagues, and galleries; provides an artistic outlet for local talent; sponsors
programs of both local and out-of-town artists and fosters an interest in art within the local and surrounding communities.
The
WVAL Spring Members Show is free and open to the public. The Exhibit will run through May 23th. at the Mid Town Village Gallery. Hrs. for
the Spring Exhibit are...Thursdays 2pm-6pm, Fridays 2pm-6pm, Saturdays noon-4pm.

OUR MAY MEETING:
May's Guest Artist, Bill Teitsworth will be presenting Working
with Light and Shadow in Water Media on May 9th at the monthly Members Meeting, 7:30 pm, at the Midtown Village location.
He will present a workshop on Saturday, May 10th, from 10:00-3:00 at 239 Schyuler Ave, Kingston, location.

Bill Teitsworth is
a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic and the Pennsylvania
Watercolor Society. Bill has won numerous prestigious awards including the Silver Medal of Honor at he 2005 American
Watercolor Society Exhibition, the Milford and Patricia Zornes Award at the 2006 National Watercolor Society and many more.
He has been featured in The American Artist Magazine and Landscape Inspirations just to name a few. Bill has a
degree from Marywood College. He teaches workshops in Pennsylvania and Maine. Bill has developed an award winning
art program for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Dress suitably for the
weather – perhaps a broad-brimmed hat (if it rains, the day will
be rescheduled).
Bring lunch! You’ll
be on the river for six hours, including the island.
There should be plenty of room in the kayaks to store a reasonable amount of
equipment – easel, paints, cameras, etc. (You might want to wrap the cameras
in a
plastic baggie.)
